The second question: oil pump chain failure caused abnormal sound

 

Engine idling open the air conditioner, issued a "crash, crashing" abnormal sound, we will remove the air conditioner compressor belt, open the air conditioner to reduce the abnormal sound, which is inferred compressor internal failure, after the replacement compressor to re-test, abnormal sound still exists. Lift the car with a lift, with the stethoscope touch the front of the oil pan can hear abnormal sound, cloth air conditioning also has a slight abnormal sound, open the air conditioning abnormal noise becomes larger.

 

The front of the oil pan is the oil pump chain and sprocket, which is suspected to be the abnormal noise of the oil pump chain. When the air conditioner is turned on, the engine load increases, causing the amplitude to increase, so the abnormal noise increases.

 

We need to remove the oil pan, found the chain tensioner spring is relatively soft, need to replace the oil pump sprocket, tensioner and chain, open the air conditioning again after the abnormal sound disappears, troubleshooting.
